Prime Minister Modi Expected to Visit Gujarat Twice in March

Gandhinagar: Prime Minister Narendrabhai Modi is likely to make two visits to Gujarat in March, according to sources. His tentative schedule includes a visit to Sasan Gir on March 3rd for a wildlife-related event, followed by visits to Surat and Navsari on March 7th and 8th for events related to women’s empowerment.

Sources indicate that PM Modi, in his capacity as the Chairman of the National Wildlife Board, is expected to attend a meeting in Sasan Gir on March 3rd, coinciding with World Wildlife Day. During this visit, he is also expected to launch “Project Lion,” a ₹3,000 crore initiative aimed at conserving and expanding the lion population in Gujarat. The project will establish eight satellite lion habitat centers equipped with monitoring, control, and veterinary facilities, catering to the projected increase in lion population by 2047. PM may also visit Somnath mandir during his visit.

Following the Sasan Gir visit, PM Modi is scheduled to travel to Surat on March 7th. In the evening, he will address a gathering at Nilgiri Maidan in the Limbayat area of Surat, where he will distribute benefits to beneficiaries of various government schemes. He will stay overnight in Surat and proceed to Navsari on March 8th morning to participate in events commemorating International Women’s Day. He is expected to distribute aid to beneficiaries of women-centric schemes in Navsari as well.

While the program for the South Gujarat visits has been finalized and communicated to the respective district collectors for necessary arrangements, official confirmation for the Sasan Gir visit is still awaited. However, the central government has reportedly begun preparations for the event, including security arrangements, assuming PM Modi’s presence. DeshGujarat
