Gandhinagar: On February 25, 2025, courts in Amreli, Vadodara, and Rajkot districts delivered seven significant verdicts in POCSO cases, sentencing all seven rapists to life imprisonment, bringing justice to seven different victims across these districts, an official statement said.

Following detailed investigations by the police in Amreli, Vadodara, and Rajkot (both city and rural) in serious POCSO-related rape cases, along with the collection of technical evidence, government prosecutors’ effective arguments, and FSL reports, all seven accused were sentenced to life imprisonment. In two cases in Amreli, the chargesheet was filed within 17 days of the accused’s arrest, while in a third case, the police arrested the accused on the same day. In Rajkot city, the police filed the chargesheet within 40 days in a rape-and-murder case. Similarly, Rajkot rural police arrested the accused on the day of the incident in the Patanvav case and filed the chargesheet within seven days in the Bhayavadar case.
