Ahmedabad surpasses Mumbai as Coldplay’s highest-grossing show in India

Ahmedabad: Coldplay broke the record for the biggest stadium shows of the 21st century with its performances in Ahmedabad in January. The band played to over 224,000 people during its two-night stint at the Narendra Modi Stadium on January 25-26.
Now, according to Billboard Boxscore, the two Ahmedabad shows grossed $15.7 million, surpassing the three shows held in Mumbai, which grossed $12.8 million.
Coldplay made its debut in India with three performances in Mumbai on January 18, 20, and 21, generating $12.8 million from 164,000 tickets. The band then played two concerts at the world’s largest cricket ground, Narendra Modi Stadium, earning $15.7 million from 224,000 tickets.
With over 110,000 attendees per night, Coldplay set a new record for the largest stadium shows of the 21st century. The Ahmedabad concerts saw 111,581 tickets sold on January 25 and 111,989 on January 26, surpassing George Strait’s 110,905 at Kyle Field in Texas last June. DeshGujarat
