Gandhinagar: Prime Minister Narendrabhai Modi is likely to visit Vantara at Reliance Greens in Jamnagar, Gujarat, this Sunday during his three-day visit to his home-state. Vantara, developed by Anant Mukesh Ambani, has emerged as the world’s top rescue, rehab, and healthcare center for wildlife.
Though the official note on the PM’s visit is awaited, the sources inform that the Prime Minister will arrive at Jamnagar airport in Gujarat on the evening of 1st March and have a night halt at the government circuit house there. On Sunday, February 2nd, he will visit Vantara and spend a few hours there.
The Prime Minister will then leave for Sasan Gir in Junagadh district to launch the Project Lion. He will visit the Gir sanctuary, the last and only natural habitat of Asiatic lions in the world. Prime Minister’s visits to Vantara and Sasan Gir would coincide with World Wildlife Day, which is marked on 3rd March every year.
On Monday, the Prime Minister will visit Prabhas Patan in coastal Saurashtra and seek the blessing of Somnath Mahadev. While the Prime Minister’s visit is going to be limited to the Saurashtra region of Gujarat, another visit is scheduled for 7-8 March in Surat in South Gujarat.
Spread over 3,000 acres within the Green Belt of Reliance’s Jamnagar Refinery Complex in Gujarat, Vantara is home to over 200 rescued elephants. Elephants who are intelligent and very social animals enjoy their lives at Vantara by engaging in various activities such as solving puzzles, exploring new scents, and playing with enrichment tools.
