ACB Gujarat nabs one more Talati in bribery case

Surat: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Gujarat today nabbed Keyurbhai Garasia (30), a Talati posted at Gopala Gram Panchayat, at Dehwasan Gram Panchayat Office in Mahuva, Surat district, in a bribery case involving ₹8,000.
According to the ACB, the complainant had constructed houses approved under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and submitted the beneficiary form along with the necessary documents to receive the sanctioned amount for the work. The accused allegedly demanded a bribe of ₹10,000 in exchange for signing the documents. Unwilling to pay the bribe, the complainant approached the ACB and filed a complaint. Based on the complaint, a trap was laid, during which the accused had a deliberate conversation with the complainant, demanded ₹8,000, and accepted the bribe.
