RTO suspends licenses of two auto showrooms in Vapi

Valsad:  The Valsad Regional Transport Office (RTO) has suspended the licenses of two prominent auto showrooms in Vapi for violating regulations related to vehicle registration and number plates. The action comes after an investigation revealed that the showrooms were selling vehicles without proper registration and High-Security Registration Plates (HSRP).

  • Metro Automobiles: This showroom, which sells Hero brand bikes and scooters, has had its license suspended for 15 days.
  • Imperial Auto: This showroom, which sells Honda mopeds and bikes, has had its license suspended for 7 days.

According to regulations in Gujarat, dealers are responsible for completing the registration process and affixing HSRP number plates before delivering vehicles to customers. However, during a recent vehicle inspection drive by the Valsad RTO, several vehicles were found without HSRP number plates. Upon further investigation, it was discovered that these vehicles had not even been registered. Some of these vehicles were from Hero, while others were from Honda.

RTO officials discovered that the dealers were selling vehicles without completing the mandatory registration process. Metro Automobiles is located near Hotel Papillon on NH-48 in Vapi. After a thorough investigation, the RTO issued show-cause notices to both Metro Automobiles and Imperial Auto. The subsequent inquiry confirmed the alleged irregularities, leading to the license suspensions.

District RTO Officer N.H. Gajera stated that both dealers will be prohibited from selling new vehicles during the suspension period.
