Ahmedabad: The Airport Police have registered a case of forgery and cheating against a father-son duo from Porbandar, Vijay Rajsi Khunti and Rajsi Khunti. The duo allegedly forged a birth certificate and Aadhaar card to obtain a passport and a UK visa fraudulently.
As per the FIR, an immigration officer at Ahmedabad airport became suspicious of a passenger traveling on an Indian passport (W0695582) issued in Surat under the name Vijay Cangi, with a Valsad address. When asked for a family photo and other identification, the passenger presented a birth certificate registered in Bopal in 2004. Upon verification, authorities discovered that his real name was Vijay Khunti from Porbandar, and he later admitted to obtaining the passport fraudulently.
Following a probe, a case was filed under Sections 319(2), 336(2), 338, 336(3), 340(2), and 54 of the BNS, along with Section 12(1)(b) of the Passport Act. The inquiry revealed that Vijay’s father, Rajsi Khunti, had obtained a false birth certificate with incorrect parental details to facilitate his son’s travel to the UK for business. DeshGujarat
