Samrat Namkeen Owner Alleges ₹4.5 Crore Fraud by Deceased Friend’s Family; Files Police Complaint
March 09, 2025
Ahmedabad: Samrat Namkeen (savory snack) owner from Naroda GIDC, Jay Shankar Vaid, has filed a First Information Report (FIR) with the Shahpur Police Station, alleging a ₹4.5 crore fraud against the family members of his deceased friend, Trikamdas Vaswani.
According to the complaint, Vaid, who owns “Samrat Namkeen,” had lent ₹4.5 crore to his friend Trikamdas Vaswani, who ran a firecracker shop near Delhi Darwaza, between 2010 and 2016. The loan was provided in installments for Vaswani’s firecracker business.
As collateral for the loan, Vaswani and his family had provided a written agreement stating that their firecracker shop near Delhi Darwaza and their house in Sardarnagar would be transferred to Vaid. However, Vaswani passed away a few months later without repaying the loan.
The situation escalated when Vaswani’s sons allegedly broke the lock of the firecracker shop and handed it over to other individuals. Vaid alleges that he was assured by Vaswani’s sons, Anand and Deepak, that they would cooperate with any necessary paperwork and gradually repay the outstanding amount. They even handed over the keys to the shop to Vaid.
However, two days later, Vaid discovered that the shop near Delhi Darwaza was open and two individuals were conducting business there. Upon investigation, he found that Trikamdas Vaswani’s sons, Deepak and Anand, were running the business themselves.
Vaid has now filed a complaint of cheating and fraud amounting to ₹4.5 crore against the family members of his deceased friend. The Shahpur police have initiated an investigation into the matter. DeshGujarat
