Six new hospitals coming up in Gandhinagar Lok Sabha constituency

Gandhinagar: Union Home Minister Amit Shah announced on Thursday that six upcoming hospitals in the Gandhinagar Lok Sabha constituency will provide affordable healthcare closer to residents’ homes.

Speaking virtually at an event to launch various projects, Shah said a 500-bed hospital is being built in Sanand, initially planned for factory workers but now extended to all residents of Sanand and Bavla talukas. Additionally, a government hospital in Kalol and another on the constituency’s border will further enhance medical facilities.

He also laid the foundation stone for two flyovers on the Sarkhej-Gandhinagar Highway and inaugurated a railway overbridge on the Sanand-Kadi road via video link.

Shah stated that a new civil hospital, comparable in size to Ahmedabad’s existing civil hospital, is being developed on the border of the Gandhinagar constituency.

Additionally, a 300-bed government hospital is under construction in Kalol, along with a 500-bed private hospital. Shah also mentioned that two trust-run hospitals are being set up in Bavla and Gandhinagar.

Once these hospitals become operational, residents will no longer need to travel to Ahmedabad, as affordable healthcare will be available within 20 km of their homes, he added. DeshGujarat
