Gandhinagar: State Education Minister Prafulbhai Pansheriya today announced the state government’s decision to increase the income limit for Std-1 admission under the Right to Education (RTE) Act.

Previously, the income limit for RTE admission was set at ₹1.20 lakh in rural areas and ₹1.50 lakh in urban areas. Now, the Education Department has decided to increase the income limit for parents in both rural and urban areas to ₹6 lakh. This revision in the income slab for the RTE admission process for 2025-26 provides significant relief to children and parents from weaker and disadvantaged groups.

Under the Right to Education Act (RTE Act-2009), free admission is provided to children from weaker and disadvantaged groups in 25% of seats in unaided private primary schools for Std-1. The process of granting free admission to eligible children in unaided private primary schools has commenced and will continue until March 16.

Earlier, for children belonging to the following categories: (8) Daughters of parents who have only one child, and that child is a daughter (9) Children studying in government-run Anganwadis (11) Children from SC-ST categories (12) SEBC category, (13) General category

The annual income limit was ₹1.20 lakh for rural areas and ₹1.50 lakh for urban areas. This limit has now been increased to ₹6 lakh for both rural and urban areas, as per the approval received from the Education Department via letter dated 13/03/2025. Now, to ensure that the maximum number of eligible students benefit from admission to Std-1, applicants with an annual income of ₹6 lakh or less in rural and urban areas across all these categories will be considered eligible to apply.

Notably, eligible children who have completed six years of age as of June 1, 2025, can apply online through the RTE portal https://rte.orpgujarat.com until April 15, 2025 (Tuesday). Additionally, applicants from other categories, those who could not apply earlier, and applicants whose applications were previously rejected at the district level due to exceeding the specified income limit (but falling below ₹6 lakh) will also be allowed to reapply online during this period.

The verification process for income eligibility and other necessary documents at the district level must be completed by April 16 (Wednesday), as stated by Minister of State for Education Shri Prafulbhai Pansheriya and the Director of Primary Education, Gandhinagar.

રાજ્ય સરકાર દ્વારા શિક્ષણના અધિકાર અધિનિયમ (RTE ACT-2009) હેઠળ બિનઅનુદાનિત ખાનગી પ્રાથમિક શાળાઓમાં ૨૫ % બેઠકોમાં ધોરણ-૧ માં નબળા અને વંચિત જૂથના બાળકોને વિનામૂલ્યે પ્રવેશ આપવાની યોજના અમલમાં છે. જેમાં નબળા અને વંચિત જૂથના બાળકો માટે બિનઅનુદાનિત ખાનગી પ્રાથમિક શાળાઓમાં ધો.૧માં વિનામૂલ્યે પ્રવેશ આપવા માટેની પ્રક્રિયા તા.૧૬મી માર્ચ સુધી શરૂ છે. અગાઉ RTE પ્રવેશ માટે આવક મર્યાદા ગ્રામ્ય વિસ્તારમાં રૂ.૧.૨૦ લાખ અને શહેરી વિસ્તારમાં રૂ.૧.૫૦ લાખ સુધી મર્યાદિત હતી. પરંતુ શિક્ષણ વિભાગે ગ્રામ્ય અને શહેરી વિસ્તારના વાલીઓ માટે આવક મર્યાદા વધારીને રૂ. ૬ લાખ કરવાનો નિર્ણય કર્યો છે. ગ્રામ્ય અને શહેરી વિસ્તારના વાલીઓ માટે આવક મર્યાદા વધારીને રૂ.૬ લાખ કરવાનો નિર્ણય કર્યો છે. RTE પ્રવેશ પ્રક્રિયા ૨૦૨૫-૨૬ માટે આવક સ્લેબમાં સુધારો થતા નબળા અને વંચિત જૂથના બાળકો અને વાલીઓને મોટી રાહત થઈ છે.

અગાઉ કેટેગરી ક્રમાંક: (૮-જે માતા-પિતાને એકમાત્ર સંતાન હોય અને તે સંતાન માત્ર દીકરી જ હોય તેવી દિકરી, ૯-રાજ્ય સરકાર હસ્તકની સરકારી આંગણવાડીમાં અભ્યાસ કરતાં બાળકો,૧૧-SC-ST કેટેગરીના બાળકો, ૧૨-SEBC કેટેગરી, ૧૩- જનરલ કેટેગરી)નાં બાળકો માટે ઓનલાઈન અરજી કરવા માટે ગ્રામ્ય વિસ્તારમાં વાર્ષિક રૂ. ૧.૨૦/- લાખ અને શહેરી વિસ્તારમાં રૂ. ૧.૫૦/- લાખ આવક મર્યાદા હતી જે શિક્ષણ વિભાગના તા. ૧૩/૦૩/૨૦૨૫ના પત્રથી મળેલ મંજુરી અન્વયે હવેથી ગ્રામ્ય તથા શહેરી વિસ્તાર બન્ને માટે વાર્ષિક રૂ. ૬.૦૦/- લાખ કરવામાં આવેલ છે. હવે વધુમાં વધુ પાત્ર વિદ્યાર્થીઓને ધો.૧માં પ્રવેશનો લાભ મળે તે માટે આ તમામ કેટેગરીના વાલીઓ માટે ગ્રામ્ય તેમજ શહેરી વિસ્તારમાં વાર્ષિક રૂ.૬ લાખ કે તેથી ઓછી આવક ધરાવતા અરજદારોને અરજી કરવા માટે પાત્ર ગણવામાં આવશે.

જે બાળકોએ ૧ જૂન-૨૦૨૫નાં રોજ છ વર્ષ પૂર્ણ કરેલ હોય તેવા તેવા પાત્ર બાળકો માટે RTE પોર્ટલ https://rte.orpgujarat.com પર તા. 15/04/2025 (મંગળવાર) સુધી ઓનલાઈન અરજી કરવાની તક છે. વધુમાં, અન્ય કેટેગરીના તથા અગાઉ અરજી ન કરી શકનાર અરજદારો તેમજ ચાલુ વર્ષે જે અરજદારોની અરજીઓ અગાઉ નિર્દિષ્ઠ કરેલ આવક કરતા વધુ આવક (પરંતુ રૂ. ૬.૦૦ લાખ કરતા ઓછી) હોવાના કારણે જિલ્લા કક્ષાએ અમાન્ય (REJECT) થયેલ હોય તેઓ પણ પુનઃ ઓનલાઈન અરજી કરી શકશે. આ અવધિ દરમિયાન અરજી કરી શકશે. જિલ્લા કક્ષાએ તમામ અરજદારોની આવક મર્યાદા તથા અન્ય આવશ્યક દસ્તાવેજોની ચકાસણી પૂર્ણ કરી અરજી મંજૂર કે નામંજૂર કરવાની પ્રક્રિયા તા. ૧૬મી એપ્રિલ (બુધવાર) સુધીમાં પૂર્ણ કરવાની રહેશે એમ રાજ્ય શિક્ષણ મંત્રી પ્રફુલભાઈ પાનશેરીયા અને પ્રાથમિક શિક્ષણ નિયામક-ગાંધીનગરની યાદીમાં જણાવાયું છે.DeshGujarat
