Rajkot: A 17-year-old school dropout allegedly murdered his uncle following a heated argument over an Instagram story in Vadali village, about 14 km from Rajkot, on Sunday night. The victim, a 32-year-old father of two, had reportedly expressed strong disapproval of the teenager’s post and asked him to delete it.

Initial investigations revealed that the conflict stemmed from a status update in Hindi, which read, “We have entered the arena; now even the queen will dance with the king.” The uncle, who had previously warned the teenager against posting objectionable content, confronted him and reprimanded him.

The situation escalated when the uncle slapped the teenager during the argument. In retaliation, the minor attacked him with a knife, stabbing him multiple times in the head and torso. Family members heard the commotion and rushed outside to find the victim bleeding profusely. He was immediately taken to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival.

A complaint was lodged by the victim’s relative, Mayur Muchdiya, at Ajidam police station. Following the incident, police teams, including the Local Crime Branch (LCB) and the Detection of Crime Branch (DCB), launched a search and apprehended the accused near Ambedkar Nagar on 80 Ft Road within a few hours.
