Surat: Amid the ongoing statewide crackdown on notorious criminals and anti-social elements, as per the state police chief’s orders, illegal encroachments on government land by these individuals are being demolished one by one. After demolishing the building of Rahul Apartment gang leader on Tuesday, the police today initiated action against illegal structures set up by bootlegger Sameer Mandva.
The Surat Municipal Corporation team, in the presence of Lal Gate police, deployed JCB machines to demolish the illegal encroachments linked to bootlegger Sameer Mandva. More than three cases, including murder, attempted murder, extortion, and assault, have been registered against him. Mandva had allegedly occupied government land illegally and erected a tin-roofed dome. The police, along with the municipal team, carried out the demolition operation.
A senior police officer at the site stated that, following the D.G.’s orders, the police are taking strict action against anti-social elements and demolishing their illegal encroachments. In the Lal Gate police jurisdiction, Sameer Mandva was under surveillance, and during the investigation, authorities discovered that he had constructed illegal structures on an SMC plot. After verification from SMC, the police, along with the municipal team, razed the illegal construction. DeshGujarat
