Commuters to face detours as Jambusar Bypass Railway Crossing shuts for repairs

Bharuch: The railway crossing below the Jambusar Bypass Railway Overbridge has been shut for commuters from today in two phases. In the first phase, movement from Jambusar Bypass toward Narmada Crossroad will be restricted from March 21 to March 23. In the second phase, from March 25 to March 27, movement from Narmada Crossroad toward Jambusar Bypass will be halted. The closure is due to ongoing restoration and repair work at the railway crossing.

Commuters traveling via the railway crossing, which connects Dahej, Jambusar, Vadhra, and Vilayat GIDCs, can use the following alternative routes:

  • Vehicles from Jambusar can take an alternative route via Manubar Chokdi to access the bridge.
  • Vehicles from Sherpura to Bypass and Mohammedpura can also take an alternative route via Manubar Chokdi.

Given the heavy traffic load on the Bharuch-Dahej Highway, locals gathered at the crossing to urge railway officials to install proper informative signboards at Sherpura village, ensuring that heavy vehicles do not head toward the closed crossing. DeshGujarat
