Surat: The Standing Committee of Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) approved a Rs. 10004 crore budget for the city for FY 2025-26. In this budget, three flyover bridges are proposed to be built at the Varachha-Kamrej road based Valak junction, Varachha-A zone based Sahjanand Road to Rachna circle flyover, and Surat-Kamrej road based Savji Korat junction based Sarthana flyover bridge’s entry and exit ramps. A foot over bridge is also proposed on Surat-Navsari main road’s Dream Honda to Yash Complex.

The SMC has proposed to purchase a 104-meter high hydraulic platform and thermal drone camera. Development of Abrama lake, a health center at Pasodara village, a Night food plaza at River Ratna View road, a library and health club in Valak, a flower market under the PS railway over bridge, an open vegetable market at Khadi Mohalla in ward 14, a Rs. 9.05 crore redevelopment of Jogger park, a new school, shantivan, a sports complex and kids play area in Athwa zone, a PPP model renovation of Gandhi Baug, a party plot in Variyav, a ward office in Adajan-Bhatha, senior citizen hall revamping at Ishita Park, and community hall revamping at Pal, a civic center-library, garden, playground center in Kanakpur zone, a culvert near Deep Darshan school, and the path linking Ganpatidham 1 and 2 etc. are the works proposed in the budget.
