RSS presence strengthens in Gujarat with surge in Shakhas, Mandalis

Gandhinagar: The people of Gujarat are increasingly drawn toward the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). The rising popularity of RSS in the state is evident from the growing number of its daily Shakhas, weekly Milans, and monthly Sangh Mandalis.
In March 2024, 1,588 Shakhas were conducted daily, which increased to 1,747 in March 2025. Additionally, the number of weekly Shakhas rose from 1,123 in March last year to 1,476 this March, while monthly Mandalis grew from 625 to 838 during the same period.
This data was revealed at the Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha of RSS, held in Bengaluru from March 21 to 23. The Pratinidhi Sabha was attended by 1,482 workers from various organizations, including the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh’s Sarsanghchalak Mohanji Bhagwat, Sarkaryawah Dattatreya Hosbale, and all six Saha Sarkaryawahs, said an official press statement.
Status of Sangh Work
As per an official statement, currently, there are a total of 83,129 daily branches of the Sangh, marking an increase of 10,000 branches since last year. The number of weekly meetings stands at 32,147, an increase of 4,430 compared to last year. The number of Sangh Mandals is 12,091.
A total of 89,706 service initiatives are ongoing across the country, including 40,920 in education, 17,461 in medical services, 10,779 in self-reliance, and 20,546 in social awareness activities.
Status of Sangh Work in Gujarat
The press release also states that Gujarat has 1,747 daily branches, 1,482 weekly meetings, and 839 Sangh Mandals. These branches consist of 60% student-led and 40% professional branches.
At present, a total of 2,568 service initiatives are being carried out in Gujarat.
The official statement from RSS also states, “During the discussion on the Mahakumbh organized in Prayagraj, the Representative Assembly described it as a pride-boosting, confidence-inspiring, and unforgettable event for the Hindu community. Crores of devotees took a holy dip at the Sangam, creating history.”
On the occasion of the Mahakumbh, the “Netra Kumbh” was organized by Sangh workers (Saksham), during which 2,37,964 people underwent eye examinations, 1,63,652 free glasses were distributed, and 17,069 cataract operations were performed. More than 300 ophthalmologists and 2,800 workers contributed to this 53-day-long service initiative.
Through its environmental activities, in collaboration with various organizations and institutions, the Sangh launched an alternative to plastic, the “Ek Thali Ek Thela Abhiyan.” Under this campaign, a total of 2,441 organizations distributed 14,17,064 thalis and 13,46,128 bags in various pandals.
As per Sangh, since 2012, 12,72,453 people have expressed their desire to join the Sangh through the Join RSS website.
In the year of the birth tercentenary of Ahilyabai Holkar, various social and educational organizations across the country made efforts to bring the inspiring legacy of Lokmata Ahilyabai Holkar to the forefront of society.
Amid the ongoing unrest in Manipur for the past 20 months, the Sangh and Sangh-inspired social organizations have been actively involved in relief efforts for those affected by the violence. They have maintained constant engagement with different communities to help restore peace and reconciliation, the RSS statement said.
Resolution on the Current Situation in Bangladesh
In another development, a resolution was passed in the Pratinidhi Sabha, calling upon the Hindu community, global leaders, and international organizations to show solidarity with the Hindu and other minority communities in Bangladesh and to stand with them in their pursuit of justice.
