Three Tourists Damage Girnar Ropeway Cabin, Refuse to Pay Full Cost, Face Police Complaint

Junagadh: A joyous ride on the Girnar Ropeway turned sour when three tourists damaged a cabin window, causing losses amounting to ₹4.45 lakh. The tourists, after initially promising to cover the expenses and paying a deposit of ₹20,000, later refused to pay the full amount, leading the ropeway manager to file a police complaint.

The incident occurred on March 15th when Parth Kantilal Vadodaria, Dishant Mahesh Padaria, and Dhruvin Bipin Pambhar, all from Rajkot, were traveling in cabin number 24 towards Girnar. During the journey, they engaged in playful behavior which resulted in the breaking of the cabin window.

Upon learning of the damage, Kulbir Singh Kulwant Singh Bedi, the resident manager of Usha Breco Limited, the company operating the ropeway, rushed to the spot. The tourists assured him they would cover all expenses and paid a deposit of ₹20,000.

However, when informed that the total cost of the damage was ₹4,45,431, the tourists backtracked, stating they would not pay such a large sum and challenged the manager to file a police complaint.

Left with no other option, Kulbir Singh Bedi filed a complaint on Monday. The Bhavnath police have registered a case and Constable P.B. Akhede is conducting further investigations.
