Surat: The Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) has taken action against the illegal construction of bootlegger Firoz Fruit, demolishing his unauthorized parking area with bulldozers in the presence of police. A notice has also been issued to his brother, Salim Fruit, regarding the illegal construction of a sixth floor on his property.
The State Monitoring Cell (SMC) had provided information to the Surat Police and the Municipal Corporation regarding illegal constructions by notorious individuals Munna Langdo, Firoz Fruit, and Salim Fruit. Following this, the SMC demolished Firoz Fruit’s illegal parking area.
The State Police Chief had issued orders to take action against criminals, bootleggers, and illegal miners within 100 hours. This operation was conducted under the direct supervision of Inspector General of Police Nirlipt Rai of the State Monitoring Cell. The SMC identified 19 illegal constructions belonging to 15 criminals and bootleggers across the state within this timeframe, including properties belonging to three major bootleggers in Surat.
The illegal constructions included a ground-plus-four-story building belonging to Ramvaran alias Munna Langdo Laxminarayan Yadav in Limbayat’s Mahaprabhu Vasahat. This construction was carried out without obtaining development permission or a Building Use Certificate (BUC). The SMC had written to the Surat Municipal Corporation, requesting them to demolish the structure and to provide necessary police security.
Firoz Fruit’s property, located at Gopipura Tatwad Gulshan-e-Shabari Apartment, was also identified as having an illegal ground-plus-one-story construction, built without approval. The SMC informed the Municipal Corporation, and a team comprising Crime Branch, Athwa Police, and SMC officials reached Firoz Foot’s residence. Initially, a shop was operating in the illegal parking area, which was removed. Subsequently, the remaining wall was demolished.
Salim Fruit, residing at Syed Residency in Bade Khan Chakla, Gopipura, was issued a notice by the Municipal Corporation to vacate the illegally constructed sixth floor of his building, which was built without being included in the approved plan. DeshGujarat
