Suspended Deputy Mamlatdar and aide nabbed by Gujarat ACB in Bribe Case

Gandhinagar: Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested two individuals, including a suspended Deputy Mamlatdar, for allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹18,000. The accused have been identified as Pravinbhai Muljibhai Parmar (54), a suspended Deputy Mamlatdar from the Mamlatdar office in Dehgam, and Niteshkumar Jethalal Rajan, a private typist.

The case originated from a complaint filed by a concerned citizen who had applied to the Gandhinagar Prant Officer and the Gandhinagar Collector’s office to cancel the sales entries of a piece of agricultural land. The complainant’s application was reportedly lost, and during his efforts to retrieve it, he came into contact with the accused.

According to the complaint, Parmar and Rajan demanded ₹18,000 to facilitate the cancellation of the sales entries and retrieve the lost application papers. Unwilling to pay the bribe, the complainant approached the ACB.

A trap was set, and on March 27, 2025, Rajan was caught red-handed accepting the bribe from the complainant near the Civil Hospital gate in Gandhinagar. Parmar was also implicated in the offense, as the bribe money was handed over to him.

The operation was conducted by D.A. Chaudhary, Police Inspector of the Gandhinagar ACB Police Station, under the supervision of A.K. Parmar, Assistant Director of the Gandhinagar ACB Unit.
