NHAI hikes toll tax rates on Ahmedabad-Vadodara Expressway

Ahmedabad: Traveling on India’s highways and expressways has become more expensive as the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) enforces a toll hike starting at midnight on March 31, 2025. The revised toll rates, effective from today, April 1, will impact commuters and commercial operators on major routes in Gujarat, including the Vadodara-Bharuch section of National Expressway 4 (NE-4) and the Ahmedabad-Vadodara Expressway (NE-1). This marks the second toll increase within a year, following a similar hike in June 2024.

The NHAI has released updated toll rates for various plazas. The National Expressway 1 (NE-1), which connects Ahmedabad and Vadodara in Gujarat, spans around 93 kilometers and significantly reduces travel time between the two cities. The new toll rates will affect lakhs of commuters who use this highway daily.

The revised toll rates for the Ahmedabad-Vadodara Expressway (NE-1) will apply to various vehicle types. For cars and jeeps, the toll has increased from ₹135 to ₹140, with a return fare of ₹215. Light Commercial Vehicles (LCVs) will now pay ₹230 instead of ₹220, with a return fare of ₹345. Buses and trucks will face the largest increase, with their toll rising from ₹465 to ₹480, and the return fare now set at ₹760.

The toll from Vadodara to Anand has increased from ₹50 to ₹55, while the toll for traveling from Vadodara to Nadiad has risen from ₹70 to ₹75. DeshGujarat
