Ahmedabad: A school bus from Anand Niketan School entered the Shrinath Park Society in Ghatlodia and crashed into a wall while being driven by an intoxicated driver.
The driver, identified as Mahesh, had driven the bus around 20 kilometers before dropping off 35 children at Nalanda School in the morning. He then took the bus into a restricted residential area. While reversing, he hit a wall and later crashed into a car inside the society.
Residents of the society stopped Mahesh and confronted him. He admitted to consuming country liquor the previous evening and confessed that he drinks alcohol daily before driving the school bus. Fortunately, no children were in the bus at the time of the accident. A resident, Mahim Thakar, whose car was damaged, stated that the society’s lanes are too narrow for buses, yet the driver entered in a drunken state. Locals gathered at the scene, demanding strict action against the driver, who was arrested by the local police. DeshGujarat
