261 ASIs of Gujarat Police promoted to PSI rank

Gandhinagar: The Gujarat government today announced that, in a continuing effort to ensure that police personnel and officers of the Gujarat Police Department receive timely promotions, 261 more ASIs have been promoted to the rank of PSI. Over the last 15 months, a total of 7,031 employees, ranging from PSIs to clerical staff, have been promoted, bringing joy to the police personnel, said an official government note.
According to the official statement, State Police Chief Vikas Sahay has issued directives to ensure that all necessary procedures for police personnel promotions are carried out on time. As a result, in 2024 alone, 6,770 police personnel and officers were promoted in the Gujarat Police Department. Today, an additional 261 ASIs have been elevated to the PSI rank, creating a sense of happiness within their families.
In 2024, a total of 341 PSIs were promoted to PI, 397 ASIs to PSI, 2,445 Head Constables to ASI, and 3,356 Police Constables to Head Constable. Additionally, 231 clerical staff also received promotions. In 2025, on April 3, 261 more ASIs were promoted to PSI. DeshGujarat
