Involved in 181 offences, six booked under GujCTOC

Gandhinagar: Six accused, collectively linked to 181 criminal offences across various states, have been booked by the State Monitoring Cell (SMC) of Gujarat Police under the GujCTOC (Gujarat Control of Terrorism and Organised Crime) Act. Among them, three are from Rajasthan and have a record of over 52 crimes in that state, along with more than 23 bootlegging cases in Gujarat.
It is learnt that Anil Jat from Sikar, Pavan Mahecha from Barmer, recently deported Taufik Khan from Dubai, and Poona Bharwad from Rapar were involved in smuggling liquor into Gujarat. Collectively, the group is linked to 181 criminal cases across various states. A senior SMC official stated that Pavan and Anil were also involved in serious crimes such as murder, extortion, and attempted murder.
