New Delhi: The National High-Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL), which is executing India’s ambitious Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train project, has invited applications for over 160 vacancies across multiple technical and managerial roles. Among the most sought-after positions is that of the HSR (High-Speed Rail) Pilot, with 4 posts available for candidates eager to be at the forefront of India’s high-speed rail revolution.

As per NHSRCL, the post of HSR Pilot has 4 vacancies — 2 for SC candidates and 1 each for ST and EWS candidates. The essential qualification includes a three-year engineering diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a combination of these disciplines from a recognized university/institution. A degree in the relevant engineering field will also be considered in place of the diploma.

Applicants must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Driver/Train Operator/Loco Pilot in Indian Railways or government-owned Metro Railways. The upper age limit is 35 years as on 31.03.2025.

Desirable skills include proficiency in the Japanese language (N5/N4/N3 level) and experience in OCC, crew management, and training activities.

It is noteworthy that selected candidates will undergo comprehensive training in Japan, including theoretical, practical, and on-the-job training (OJT) for 12–18 months. Post-training, candidates may be assigned to high-speed train operations in Japan or India on a secondment basis for 1–2 years.
