Gujarat Road Safety Authority Issues Guidelines for Vehicle and Driver Safety in Summer

Gandhinagar: During the scorching summer heat, vehicles and drivers are greatly affected. It is essential for drivers to get adequate rest and stay hydrated during this season. Keeping this in mind, the Gujarat Road Safety Authority, Gandhinagar, has issued guidelines advising vehicle owners to take care of the tire life cycle, air filters, engine maintenance, radiator cleaning, and more.

According to the guidelines, citizens should check the prescribed air pressure in all tires of their vehicles.

• Citizens should pay special attention to vehicle tires during the summer. If the vehicle has completed the specified kilometers or the tires are over a year old, they should be replaced.

• Engine and A.C. air filters should be cleaned regularly.

• Engine oil and coolant should be changed after completing the specified kilometers.

• Radiator and all pipes connected to the cooling and A.C. systems should be checked by a vehicle technician.

• Citizens should carry drinking water in the vehicle and maintain sufficient hydration in the body during the summer season.

• Drivers should take a 10-minute break if driving continuously for one to one and a half hours or more.

• Children should not be left alone in the car during extreme heat. If children suffer a heat stroke due to excessive heat inside the car, it can be fatal.

• Vehicles should not be parked on public roads in extreme heat but rather in shaded and safe locations.

• Citizens should keep ISI-certified fire extinguishers in CNG vehicles and have them inspected regularly. DeshGujarat
