Zepto delivery boy stabbed in Surat; 3 including minor nabbed
April 30, 2025
Surat: The local police have arrested three individuals, including a minor, for brutally assaulting a delivery executive of Zepto. The victim, Mohit Tanna (22), was allegedly assaulted with a knife and iron rod after he reported his supervisor, Amit Thakur, for theft.
Tanna had been working under Amit for four months when his friend Siddharth, also a delivery boy, discovered that Amit was stealing milk bottles from the Zepto store and reported it to the manager. This led to the deactivation of Siddharth’s delivery ID by Amit. Later, Amit threatened to deactivate Tanna’s ID, prompting him to file a complaint, which was escalated to Zepto’s Surat head.
On Monday, when Zepto’s Surat head was scheduled to visit the store in Laskana, Tanna, along with others, was waiting for him. Amit, his brother Vishal Thakur, and one minor accomplice confronted Tanna, hurling abuses before launching a violent attack. Tanna was stabbed thrice and hit on the head, sustaining serious injuries.
Laskana police have booked and arrested the trio under BNS 118(2) for causing grievous hurt with dangerous weapons, and further investigation is ongoing. DeshGujarat
