GSRTC to run over 1,400 extra buses during summer vacation

Gandhinagar: In order to facilitate travel within Gujarat and to other states during the summer vacation, the Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC) will operate more than 1,400 additional buses daily, connecting major cities across the state based on passenger demand, said a statement issued by the Corporation today.

Approximately 500 trips have been planned from Surat to Saurashtra, around 210 from Saurashtra to North Gujarat, about 300 from South Gujarat to North Gujarat, and 300 trips within Saurashtra. Additionally, inter-state bus services have been planned from Gujarat to neighboring states including Maharashtra and Rajasthan. The Corporation has also undertaken advance planning across all departments to ensure that passengers have access to safe and timely travel facilities during the vacation period.

To promote tourism and pilgrimages during the vacation, new routes have been introduced to various destinations. These include 10 daily trips from Ahmedabad to Ambaji, Somnath, and Dwarka; 5 daily trips to Dakor, Pavagadh, and Girnar; and 5 daily trips to tourist spots such as the Statue of Unity, Sasangir, and Saputara. Furthermore, 10 daily trips from Ahmedabad to Diu and Kutch are also being arranged.

For inter-state travel, two daily trips are planned from Ahmedabad to Mount Abu and Sundhamata in Rajasthan. Similarly, two daily trips will operate from Gita Mandir in Ahmedabad to popular destinations in Maharashtra, such as Shirdi, Nashik, and Dhule. DeshGujarat
