Person arrested for ‘anti-national’ social media posts
May 17, 2025
Vadodara: The Padra police have arrested one Siddiqui Malek, a resident of Anti village in Padra taluka, for making an ‘anti-national’ post on social media.
The individual had posted content on social media praising Pakistan and making objectionable remarks against the Indian Armed Forces and Prime Minister Modi. The post sparked significant public outrage, prompting the police to take swift action, arrest the accused, and initiate a further probe.
This is yet another arrest by the Gujarat police, who have so far arrested over 17 individuals for anti-national social media posts related to Operation Sindoor — the military operation carried out by the Indian Armed Forces targeting terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir in retaliation for the Pahalgam terror attack that took place last month in Jammu and Kashmir.
