Padra police nabs one for ‘anti-national’ social media post

Vadodara: In yet another such case in the state, the Padra Police has arrested an individual for posting anti-national content on social media.

It is learned that a youth named Ghanchi Sameer Hussain, a resident of Sokhdakhurd village, was sharing obscene and provocative posts on social media that insult the national flag of India and threaten the country’s unity and integrity.

Based on this information, Padra police immediately launched an investigation and arrested Sameer Hussain at his residence. A case has been registered under relevant sections of the Bhartiya Nyay Sanhita for anti-national activities and insulting the national flag.

Padra police stated, “We will not tolerate any activity that harms the sovereignty, unity, and integrity of the country. Strict action will be taken against anti-national elements.” Officials have appealed to the public to promptly report any suspicious or anti-national activity to the police and cooperate in maintaining peace and harmony in society.

Earlier, a man sympathetic to Pakistan was arrested from Anti village in Padra. The accused, Siddique Malek of Anti village, had posted controversial content against the Indian Army and the Prime Minister, attempting to demean India in comparison to Pakistan.
