FRC orders Rs. 10 lakh fine to Vadodara based school

Vadodara: Fee Regulatory Committee (FRC) of Vadodara Zone has fined Rs. 10 lakh to Bhaili area based Vibgyor school after the parents protested against the school for collecting fees higher than prescribed by FRC. The school was fined Rs. 2 lakh in the year 2024 also. FRC had given three opportunities to the school management to present their case, but no supporting documents were presented before the committee. The comittee also found that required qualified teachers were not hired by school. Against FRC prescribed fees of Rs. 85,000 and Rs. 1.78 lakh, the school had reportedly collected Rs. 1.50 akh and Rs. 2.10 lakh fees per student. Apart from higher fees, the parents complained that the school was pressurizing the students to buy uniform from the school and books and other material from specific store. The school is fined Rs. 1 lakh for not placing FRC order on notice board, Rs. 1 lakh for collecting fees of two quarters on one go instead of single quarter, Rs. 3 lakh fine for not availing required documents before FRC and Rs. 5 lakh fine for operating pre-primary school in same campus and colleting fees without approval of FRC.
