Gandhinagar to get ‘Health Review Center’; Inauguration on June 5

Gandhinagar: The Gujarat government today announced that it has set up a Health Review Center in the state capital to monitor and comprehensively review the health services and facilities being provided to the citizens of the state under a single umbrella. The newly constructed Health Review Center will be inaugurated by Health Minister Rushikesh Patel on June 5th.
The health programs/services implemented by different branches of the Health Department will be integrated from one place through the Health Review Center, which will provide regular follow-up and review to achieve the set goals and reach out to beneficiaries deprived of district-wise services.
The Gujarat government has made health helpline number 104 operational in the Health Review Center so that people can get information about health schemes and any advice, suggestions, or consultation related to health while sitting at home.
What will be done in the Health Review Center:
For the effective and result-oriented implementation of all health programs and schemes, the Health Department will be able to integrate the dashboard of the database of all health programs and monitor them at a single center.
In important programs of the Health Department, an audio-visual system has been established for easy communication. Digital data of beneficiaries of various implemented services and a dashboard arrangement have been made.
In adverse and emergency situations like natural calamities, epidemics, etc., the Health Review Center will be an effective means of informing all the districts of the state about policy decisions and implementation through consultation with high officials and experts from the state level in an integrated manner through audio-visuals, ensuring prompt implementation as per the strategies fixed at the high level.
Facilities available at the Health Review Center:
- Advanced audio-visual conference room with arrangements for 12 terminals
- Meeting room for video conferencing as well as seating arrangements for the officers on duty
- Advanced call center arrangement for consultation, advice, suggestions, and guidance on various health services to the beneficiaries of the flagship schemes/services of the Health Department, as per the prescribed questionnaires, by a total of 100 trained call-takers at a time
- A dedicated CAD call center application is being designed and implemented by EMRI GHS to manage and store information securely for systematic call recording, evidence, training, and quality control
- Arrangement of two-way communication video conferencing and dialogue with the district administration and health officials of the state from time to time
- Arrangement for monitoring and feedback of dashboards of important programs implemented by the Health Department
- Arrangement of digital click-to-call for instant contact with the officers and employees of the entire structure of the Health Department at the state and district levels
- Empowerment of officials at the district and taluka levels with up-to-date information
Important health services covered by the Health Review Center:
Maternal Health: Pregnant women with sickle cell anemia, heart, kidney issues, weight less than 42 kg, care of pregnant women with low hemoglobin, and other important criteria
Child Health: Various criteria related to child health will be evaluated
TB: High-risk TB patients undergoing treatment; patients who have experienced side effects of TB drugs during 15 days of treatment; patients who have completed 2 (two) months of treatment (high-risk and side-effect patients); patients who have completed 4 (four) months of treatment (high-risk patients); patients who have completed 6 (six) months of TB treatment (all high-risk patients); patients who have completed 3 months of TB treatment and symptoms (all high-risk patients – post-treatment follow-up)
Vaccination: The universal vaccination program given to children and mothers will also be evaluated.
PMJAY-Maa Scheme: Feedback of patients undergoing treatment under PMJAY-Maa Card, as well as evaluation through the services of the helpline number started for this scheme. Work will be done regarding questions asked by sickle cell anemia patients, children with severe acute malnutrition (SAM) under the School Health Program, and MPHW under the National Vector-Borne Disease Control Program.
104 Health Helpline (Non-Emergency Service): Health-related planning information, advice, and suggestions for any disease, information on fever and related diseases, complaints, and management of health services are also provided to all citizens of the state.

- Consultation of the patient with the doctor through conference call at home
- Sending medicine, lab tests, and e-prescription facility through SMS
