CGST Vapi Slaps ₹13.18 Lakh Penalty on Pidilite

Vapi: Pidilite Industries Limited, the manufacturer of adhesives, sealants, and construction chemicals, and the name behind the brand Fevicol, has reported that it has been served a penalty order amounting to ₹13.18 lakh by the Central Goods and Services Tax (CGST) department in Vapi, Gujarat.
According to the company, the penalty pertains to the financial year 2020–21 and was communicated via email on June 4, 2025, by the Assistant Commissioner of CGST, Vapi, in accordance with the provisions of the CGST Act.
While the company did not cite any specific reason for the penalty in its disclosure, it clarified that the announcement has been made in compliance with Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.
Pidilite noted that the order is subject to appeal and that the company is currently reviewing the matter in detail. It is evaluating all legal options and intends to exercise its right to challenge the order before a higher authority under the existing GST framework.
Reassuring investors and stakeholders, the company emphasized that the issue will not have any significant impact on its financial condition, day-to-day operations, or overall business activities. “The matter is under review and appropriate action will be taken.
