June 09, 2025
Ahmedabad: JS Hospital, run by the Thakershy Charitable Trust, on Sunday unveiled its newly reconstructed and modernised premises. The event featured an Open House, where guests witnessed the transformation of the 100-bed multi-speciality hospital, which has served lakhs of patients at extremely affordable rates or free of cost since its establishment in 1983.
Originally started as a diagnostic centre on a 2,400-square-yard plot, the hospital has undergone a complete structural overhaul with an investment of over ₹70 crore. The upgraded facility now houses state-of-the-art infrastructure, advanced equipment, and expanded medical services across multiple departments.
The hospital offers advanced surgical care through two modular HEPA-filtered operation theatres and three regular OTs, critical care units with ventilator support, a fully equipped cardiac cath lab, isolation wards, dialysis facilities, pathology services, physiotherapy, diagnostic imaging, and a dedicated cancer hospice centre.
Speaking on the occasion, Navnit Thakershy, Managing Trustee of JS Hospital, said, “Our goal has always been to bridge the gap between public and private healthcare by offering quality, yet affordable treatment. These new facilities reflect our vision to serve the community better, and we are confident that the people of Ahmedabad will continue to benefit from our services.”
Anar Thakershy, CFO of JS Hospital, said, “We are deeply grateful to our patrons, donors, doctors, nurses, and paramedical staff who have stood by us through every challenge—be it the pandemic, floods, or earthquakes. As we begin this new chapter, we are ready to embrace the evolving dynamics of healthcare and the changing needs of patients. Our mission to provide affordable and compassionate care remains unchanged. We invite well-wishers to continue supporting our mission, as every donation directly enhances patient care.”
