Heavy rain likely in Gujarat over next 7 days; Orange alert in some parts on 15-16 June

Ahmedabad: The India Meteorological Department (IMD), in its latest forecast, has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall in some parts of Gujarat for the next seven days starting today. The weather department has issued yellow to orange alerts for several districts, while the rest of the state is expected to experience light to moderate rain and thundershowers.
According to the IMD bulletin, Heavy rain is very likely at isolated places in the districts of Dang, Navsari, Valsad, and in the Union Territories of Daman and Dadra & Nagar Haveli. Other parts of Gujarat may receive light to moderate rainfall on June 13th.
On June 14th, heavy rainfall is very likely at isolated places in the districts of Narmada, Dang, Navsari, Valsad, Tapi, Amreli, and Bhavnagar.
On June 15th, heavy to very heavy rain is expected in Navsari, Valsad, Daman, Dadra & Nagar Haveli, Amreli, and Bhavnagar. An orange alert has been issued for these places. A yellow warning is in effect for Surat, Dang, Tapi, Rajkot, Junagadh, Gir Somnath, and Diu.
On June 16th, an orange alert is in place for Amreli and Bhavnagar. A yellow alert has been issued for Surat, Dang, Navsari, Valsad, Tapi, Daman, Dadra & Nagar Haveli, Rajkot, Junagadh, Gir Somnath, and Diu.
On June 17th, heavy rain is very likely at isolated places in the Gujarat region districts of Dahod, Chhota Udepur, and Narmada, and in the Saurashtra region districts of Rajkot, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Gir Somnath, and Diu.
On June 18th, similar rainfall activity is expected in the districts of Dahod, Chhota Udepur, Narmada (Gujarat region) and Amreli, Bhavnagar, Gir Somnath, and Diu (Saurashtra region).
On June 19th, heavy rain is very likely at isolated places in the districts of Dang, Navsari, Valsad, and in Daman and Dadra & Nagar Haveli (Gujarat region), and in Amreli and Bhavnagar (Saurashtra region).
During this period, all districts are expected to experience light to moderate rain, according to the IMD. The department has also predicted that the Southwest Monsoon is likely to make its onset over Gujarat within the next 3 to 5 days. DeshGujarat
