Two AC mechanics die after falling from 7th floor of housing complex in Surat

Surat: Two youths tragically lost their lives after accidentally falling while repairing an outdoor air conditioning unit outside the window of a seventh-floor flat in Shalibhadra Complex, located in Nanpura’s Kailash Nagar area. One died on the spot, while the other succumbed to his injuries during treatment at a private hospital. The sudden deaths have plunged both families into mourning.
According to the information, 42-year-old Hassan Nizamuddin Syed, a resident of Palia Street in Rander, earned a living by repairing air conditioners to support his wife and two sons. On Friday morning, Hassan, accompanied by 32-year-old Zakir Hussain Ghulamnabi Sheikh, a resident of SMC Quarters on Bhagyalakshmi Road in Jahangirpura, went to the seventh floor of Shalibhadra Complex to carry out AC repair work. While working on the outdoor unit mounted outside the window, both Hassan and Zakir accidentally fell.
The sound of the fall alerted nearby residents, who rushed to the scene. Hassan sustained severe injuries, including head trauma, and died on the spot. Zakir was rushed to a private hospital in critical condition but passed away shortly after receiving treatment.
Police have registered a case of accidental death and are proceeding with legal formalities. The exact circumstances leading to the tragic fall remain unclear and are currently under investigation. DeshGujarat
