IMD issues orange alert for very heavy rains in 13 districts of Gujarat

Surat: Heavy rains lashed several districts of Gujarat on Sunday night, and the weather activity has continued into Monday morning. In its latest forecast, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for 13 districts in the state, warning of the possibility of very heavy rainfall over the next 24 hours.
The districts under orange alert are Panchmahal, Dahod, Vadodara, Chhota Udepur, Narmada, Surat, Bharuch, Navsari, Valsad, Junagadh, Amreli, Bhavnagar, and Gir Somnath. The IMD said most other districts, except Kutch, Morbi, Jamnagar, and Dwarka, are also likely to receive heavy rainfall. These four districts may receive only light to moderate showers.
On June 24, heavy rain is likely in several parts of the state, including Gandhinagar, Aravalli, Kheda, Ahmedabad, Anand, Panchmahal, Dahod, Mahisagar, Vadodara, Chhota Udepur, Narmada, Bharuch, Surat, Dang, Navsari, Valsad, Tapi, Rajkot, Junagadh, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Gir Somnath, Botad, and Diu.
On June 25, heavy downpours are expected in Panchmahal, Dahod, Vadodara, Chhota Udepur, Narmada, Bharuch, Surat, Dang, Navsari, Valsad, Tapi, Amreli, Bhavnagar, and Gir Somnath. The rest of the state may experience light rain.
On June 26, light rainfall is likely across most parts of Gujarat. However, some districts—including Aravalli, Panchmahal, Dahod, Mahisagar, Chhota Udepur, Narmada, Dang, Navsari, Valsad, Tapi, Daman, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Gir Somnath, and Diu—may receive heavy rain at isolated places.
By June 27, heavy rains are very likely at isolated locations in Panchmahal, Dahod, Chhota Udepur, Narmada, Dang, Navsari, Valsad, Tapi, Daman, Dadra Nagar Haveli, Jamnagar, Morbi, Dwarka, and Kutch.
On June 28, almost all districts in Gujarat are expected to be lashed by heavy downpours, except Banaskantha, Patan, and Mehsana in North Gujarat.
On June 29, apart from the above three districts, Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Kheda, and Anand are also expected to receive only light showers, while the rest of the state is likely to witness heavy rainfall. DeshGujarat
