AMC introduces online system for faster property tax assessments
June 25, 2025
Ahmedabad: Citizens in the city can now perform self-assessment for property tax on newly constructed, renovated, or extended properties through the Amdavad Municipal Corporation’s (AMC) official website. By entering property details, users can find out the estimated tax amount applicable to their property.
According to Revenue Committee Chairman Aniruddhasinh Zala and Deputy Chairman Pradeep Dave, the platform is designed for individuals seeking quicker property assessments and billing.
Applicants can access the service through the AMC website, where they can enter details such as the type and area of the property, and upload supporting documents, including property purchase agreements.
Once the application is submitted, the system will automatically generate a provisional property tax bill. Within seven days, an AMC official will conduct a site visit to verify the submitted documents and measure the property. A final bill will then be issued based on the verification.
Traditionally, property assessments in Ahmedabad are conducted ward-wise once every four years. However, many residents, especially those with newly constructed properties—have voiced frustration over the lack of timely assessments, despite repeated requests. In response, AMC has developed this digital platform to allow citizens to independently initiate the property assessment process. DeshGujarat
