This follows repeated issues over the past month, including more than 10 days of GSWAN connectivity failures. Frustrated applicants expressed their anger after repeated rescheduling and wasted travel. An RTO official stated that the disruption occurred during ongoing construction for the new track and assured that operations would likely resume by evening or the next morning.
– Surat police have busted a gang making and selling fake gold jewellery, arresting 12 people including mastermind Vivek Waghela. Operating for the past two years from a rented flat in Velanja, the gang used just 23% gold in chains, stamped them with fake hallmarks, and sold them through unemployed artisans and drivers lured with ₹5,000 per chain. The racket came to light when a jeweller detected a fake chain and alerted authorities. Police seized machines and hallmark stamps, and suspect the gang defrauded jewellers and gold finance companies of over ₹20 crore.
– Junagadh B Division Police has booked police constable Keyur Barot for submitting false medical documents claiming his wife was ill to fraudulently avail leave after his transfer from Ahmedabad to Junagadh. During the probe, it was revealed that Barot had forged medical documents in collusion with Nikunj Karkar, the PRO of a hospital. Nikunj is also booked, and the case is currently under investigation by the DySP.
– Locals are agitated following the collapse of a garden wall in the Gomtipur area of Ahmedabad. The wall collapsed days ago, damaging vehicles parked nearby.
