Kalavad MLA’s son avails ₹3 lakh subsidy under PM Awas Yojana

Jamnagar: BJP MLA from Kalavad, Meghjibhai Chavda, finds himself at the center of controversy after it came to light that his son availed benefits under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) housing scheme. The revelation has sparked outrage over how the MLA’s son, Mohit Chavda, managed to secure approval under a scheme meant for the economically weaker section.

“Yes, it is true that the application form of Meghjibhai’s son Mohit has been approved and the benefit has been granted,” confirmed Jitu Chavda from Dhrol Municipality.

Interestingly, MLA Meghjibhai Chavda had declared substantial movable and immovable assets in his election nomination papers. These include over a bigha of agricultural land spread across four villages in the taluka, two cars, and a house. The fact that his son was granted a house under a subsidized housing scheme, despite the declared wealth, has further fueled public debate. DeshGujarat
