Ahmedabad girl jumps from building after being blackmailed with intimate video; two booked

Ahmedabad: In a disturbing case of betrayal and blackmail, a 21-year-old woman ended her life by jumping from the 14th floor of a high-rise apartment in the Chandkheda area. The deceased woman allegedly took the extreme step after being blackmailed over an intimate video involving her and her lover. The local police have registered a case of abetment to suicide against her lover, Mohit alias Mitraj Makwana, and his friend Hardik Rabari.

As per the information, the incident traces back to a few days ago when Hardik reportedly called the victim and claimed he had an intimate video of her and Mohit. He asked her to meet him near Hill Lok Hotel near Vaishnodevi Circle, where he showed her the video on his mobile phone. Mohit was also present at the spot. Shocked and traumatized, the victim confronted Mohit and requested him to delete the clip. Though Mohit initially refused, the police intervened following her call, and the video was eventually deleted in their presence. However, no formal complaint was registered as the parties claimed to have resolved the issue.

Despite this, the victim remained anxious that the video could still exist on other devices. Reports suggest she had already paid Mohit ₹6,000 and pawned her gold chain in fear of further blackmail. Her fears intensified as the harassment allegedly continued even after police involvement.

On the day of the incident, victim had gone out with a friend only to jump from the building. Her friend later informed others that she had taken her life. Police believe the continuous mental pressure and fear of public shaming pushed her to suicide.

A case of abetment to suicide has been registered against Mohit and Hardik Rabari. Mohit has been arrested, while efforts are underway to apprehend Hardik. The case has sparked outrage, raising concerns over digital privacy, misuse of personal content, and the psychological toll of blackmail. DeshGujarat
