Proposal to bifurcate Ahmedabad city DEO into East and West zones
July 08, 2025
Ahmedabad: The Gujarat State School Management Federation has proposed splitting the Ahmedabad City District Education Office (DEO) into East and West zones, citing the city’s growing municipal limits.
The federation emphasized that the division should reflect the geographical boundaries of the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC), rather than relying solely on the current DEO jurisdiction. Officials pointed out that the existing arrangement creates administrative challenges, as in many cases, primary schools fall under the city DEO while the secondary and higher secondary sections on the same campus are overseen by the rural DEO. This fragmented system leads to complications for school administrators, staff, students, and parents. DeshGujarat
