Gir: A Forest Department team rescued a lioness that had fallen into an open well in Dhawa village, Talala Gir, on Sunday morning. The incident occurred when the lioness, likely hunting for prey, accidentally slipped into the uncovered well. Fortunately, officials arrived promptly and safely rescued her.
It is learnt that a local farmer found the lioness after hearing noises coming from the well while visiting his field early in the morning. He quickly informed the Talala Forest Guard about the situation.
Acting on the instructions of the Deputy Conservator of Forests and the RFO, a rescue team rushed to the spot with a vehicle and a cage. The operation took about half an hour, and the lioness was successfully lifted out of the well. She was then transported to the Animal Care Center for first aid and treatment. Once fully recovered, the lioness will be released back into her natural habitat. DeshGujarat
