Paldi house owner begins demolishing illegal constructions following MLA’s complaint
August 13, 2025
Ahmedabad: Ellisbridge MLA Amit P. Shah wrote to Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, raising concerns about illegal construction activities in the Paldi area, alleging violations of the Disturbed Areas Act (Ashant Dhara). Just a day after this, the owner of a house in Nutan Sarvodaya Society has started demolishing the illegal constructions.
In his letter, Shah claimed that members of the minority community had carried out unauthorized construction, including merging two adjoining bungalows in Nutan Sarvodaya Society to create a single large structure, bypassing Ashant Dhara regulations.
Following the MLA’s complaint, the house owner voluntarily began demolishing the illegal structures around his property. Early Wednesday morning, demolition work started on unauthorized constructions both inside and around the house, in compliance with government guidelines.
Shah also warned against turning Ashram Road and the Paldi area into “another Juhapura” and urged the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) and the Collector to take immediate action against such violations. DeshGujarat
