Ahmedabad: The city witnessed another violent incident involving rogue elements on Sunday when a youth was attacked with a knife in public at Sonal Crossroads in Juhapura. Video footage of the fight involving knives and stones went viral on social media. Two individuals were injured in the incident and were taken to the hospital for treatment.

The Vejalpur police have registered a case against four accused and launched a search for them. According to reports, Aman Sheikh, a car washer residing in Tavakkal Park, Juhapura, was travelling with two friends on a Suzuki Burgman two-wheeler when three men on a black Activa intercepted them near Sonal Char Rasta. The attackers demanded Aman’s vehicle and, upon his refusal, began assaulting him. A knife was then drawn, and a fight ensued in public.

Aman’s friends were also attacked while trying to intervene. The altercation caused chaos on the busy road, with vehicles coming to a halt, and another youth on a Splendor bike verbally abusing the group. Eventually, the three attackers fled the scene on a moped without a number plate, accompanied by the youth on the Splendor.

Aman and his friend were admitted to Sola Civil Hospital for treatment. The Vejalpur police are now investigating and searching for the accused. The viral video of the incident has reignited concerns about public safety in Ahmedabad.
