2.17 lakh farmers register in a day after MSP procurement portal restored: Gujarat govt
September 03, 2025
Gandhinagar: The registration process for the procurement of Kharif crops at minimum support prices (MSP) had to be halted after the e-Samruddhi portal crashed on the opening day. Explaining the reason behind the crash, Agriculture Minister Raghavji Patel said that last year, 4,500 VCE logins and around 59,000 registrations were completed on the very first day. Keeping this trend in mind, the portal was upgraded this year with the capacity to handle 4,500 VCEs along with an additional 30% load.
However, on the first day of registration this year, the portal faced nearly 9,000 VCE logins simultaneously. This resulted in a 100% surge in load compared to last year, causing the system to crash. After the sudden increase in traffic, the portal’s capacity was enhanced and it was restored the very next morning.
The minister further stated that after increasing the portal’s capacity, the registration process on the e-Samruddhi portal is now running smoothly. As of September 3, by 2:00 pm, more than 2.17 lakh farmers across the state had successfully registered through 9,000 VCEs.
He added that to ensure farmers do not face any inconvenience, the Agriculture Department promptly restored the system to maximum efficiency. DeshGujarat
