Three Arrested in Bhavnagar for Spying on Mineral Officials via WhatsApp Groups

Bhavnagar: Police in Bhavnagar have busted an organized network accused of aiding mineral mafias by spying on government officials. Acting on a complaint filed by Geologist Officer Jalondhara, authorities arrested three men who were allegedly running WhatsApp groups that relayed sensitive information to illegal miners.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Kuldeep Singh Mahavir Singh Gohil, Ashish Hirjibhai Makwana, and Shivam Kanakbhai Chauhan. According to investigators, these groups operated under different names and circulated photographs, contact numbers, vehicle details, and locations of Geologist, RTO, and Revenue Department officials.

This information was reportedly passed to mineral mafias, enabling them to evade raids and inspections. Police have seized WhatsApp data and are analyzing it to gather further evidence.

Royalty Inspectors and Mines Supervisors are assisting in the probe, and officials said more arrests are likely as the investigation progresses. DeshGujarat
