Board Banning Garba Near Dargah in Kheda Triggers Row Ahead of Navratri

Kheda: A controversy erupted after a notice board was put up at Nani Bhagol, Husaini Chowk area of Matar, stating that playing or performing Garba near the Dargah, Madrasa, and Masjid is strictly prohibited.

However, as the controversy escalated and garnered attention on social media, the board was later painted over in black following police intervention. It has come to light that the board was installed by a Muslim individual on his private property, who has since been warned by police against such actions. The police have also filed a complaint against two individuals in the matter.

Notably, the area is predominantly Muslim, with no Hindu residents, making the possibility of Garba events unlikely. This has raised questions about the reason behind putting up such a notice.

Sources suggest that it could have been an attempt to create tension during the festive season, and the police are carrying out further investigations into the matter. DeshGujarat
