Ahmedabad: Stalled for over a year, the Entertainment Hub project on the Sabarmati riverfront by Imagicaa World Entertainment is finally set to move forward. The delay was caused by a new rule requiring 50% of the space to be reserved for parking.

While Imagicaa was willing to provide parking under the original tender conditions, the Sabarmati Riverfront Development Corporation Limited (SRFDCL) insisted on compliance with the updated gaming zone regulations. To resolve the issue, SRFDCL will now construct a multi-level parking facility for the Entertainment Hub. Meanwhile, as the plot is located near Atal Bridge on the eastern side of the riverfront, the company has agreed to provide a 1,000-square-metre emergency exit space for bridge visitors.

According to officials, the new multi-level parking facility is planned at a cost of Rs 5–10 crore, and the layout of the Entertainment Hub has been updated to comply with the regulations introduced after a gaming zone fire in Rajkot last year. The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation’s standing committee will review and approve these changes at its Thursday meeting.

Earlier, on March 6, 2024, SRFDCL approved a single tender from Imagicaa to develop the Entertainment Hub on 45,600 square metres of land. The plot was valued at Rs 1,150 crore with an annual rent of Rs 45.6 lakh, along with a seven-year property tax exemption.
