BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha cleared of human trafficking and other allegations in US

New York: The United States justice system has officially cleared the renowned BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha’s Akshardham temple, the largest Hindu temple and cultural complex in the Western Hemisphere, of all allegations, an official press release said.

During the construction of the temple in 2021, a few Indian workers had accused the temple management of serious violations, including underpayment, caste discrimination, and human trafficking, allegedly motivated by a desire to gain US citizenship and financial benefits. These claims triggered a criminal investigation by US authorities, which continued for the past four years.

Following an extensive four-year probe, US justice authorities have dismissed all allegations, declaring BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha completely exonerated. The US-based BAPS organization welcomed the decision and expressed heartfelt gratitude on its website to all Hindu institutions and individuals who supported them during this challenging period.

It is noteworthy that, instead of the 110 workers who left amid these allegations, the temple was completed in just 18 months by 12,500 dedicated volunteers of BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha.

The US justice system’s decision to dismiss the false allegations highlights BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha’s peaceful service ethos and selfless dedication, an official statement said. DeshGujarat
