Loudspeakers Only Allowed Till Midnight During Navratri in Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad: Police Commissioner G S Malik on Wednesday issued an order restricting the use of loudspeakers and sound systems during Navratri and Dussehra festivities to a two-hour window. As per the notification, microphones, loudspeakers, and public address systems will only be allowed between 10 pm and midnight.
The directive, effective from September 22 to October 2, has been issued under the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) 2023 and the Gujarat Police Act, 1951.
Addressing the media, Commissioner G. S. Malik said, “the timings of the Garba will be as per rules notified by the government, which is till 12 midnight.”
In addition to sound restrictions, traffic regulations have also been announced for the festive period. From September 22 to October 2, the entry of heavy vehicles into the city will remain banned between 8 am and 2 am.
