Vadodara: Commuters witnessed a bizarre scene on Thursday evening near Sursagar when a woman sat in the middle of the road after accusing a pani puri vendor of giving her two pieces less in a ₹20 plate.
According to details, the woman, a resident of Machhipith, had been visiting the same stall for the past two days. Around 5 pm on Thursday, she claimed the vendor served her fewer pani puris than the standard six offered for ₹20. Although the vendor later handed over the extra pieces, the woman argued, created a scene, and sat on the road, drawing curiosity from passersby and disrupting traffic.
The police were informed and arrived at the spot, attempting to pacify her before taking her to the police station. After counseling, she was sent home. The woman alleged that the vendor misbehaves with her every time she visits, cheats on the pani puri count, and uses abusive language. She demanded that the stall be removed permanently.
The pani puri seller, who has been operating in the area for 14 years, said the woman wrongly accused him despite being given the correct count and extra pieces later. He added that she had quarreled with him the previous day as well.
Later, when the woman insisted that the stall should not reopen, the police revisited the spot and asked the vendor not to operate for the rest of the day. The vendor complied and shifted his cart. DeshGujarat
